🌿 Welcome to Jaivik Gram – A Village Rooted in Nature
Located in Atarra, Banda district of Uttar Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region, Jaivik Gram is a model village farm dedicated to natural and sustainable farming. Here, ancient farming wisdom meets modern ecological practices to create a healthier, self-reliant rural life.
Our mission is to revive traditional agricultural knowledge, promote chemical-free farming, and restore harmony between farmers and nature. From organic grains and indigenous seeds to cow-based natural fertilizers and community-driven water conservation, Jaivik Gram is a living example of how villages can thrive—naturally.
Join us as we grow food that's good for the soil, the farmer, and you.
The concept of Jaivik Gram was initiated in 2014, born out of a deep concern for the rising number of stray indigenous cattle, the deteriorating condition of soil, and the growing dependence on chemical-intensive farming. It became clear that food was losing its nutritional value, soil was losing its fertility, and farmers were burdened by increasing input costs.
In response to these challenges, we decided to adopt Cow-based natural farming. We began utilizing cow dung and cow urine to prepare organic fertilizers and natural pesticides. At the same time, we focused on conserving and promoting indigenous seeds, aiming to rebuild a resilient and self-sustaining agricultural system. This approach helped lower farming costs, improved soil health, and ensured better food quality. Our vision extended beyond yield—we wanted to restore the health of our farms, our communities, and our environment.
Water conservation was a critical part of this journey. With groundwater levels falling and unsustainable water use becoming the norm in farming, we made water management a central focus. We adopted efficient irrigation technologies like drip and sprinkler systems and prioritized crops that require minimal water. This allowed us to work towards the idea of “more yield with less water”, making farming more climate-resilient and environmentally responsible.
Recognizing that agriculture cannot be transformed in isolation, we also began training farmers from surrounding villages. Farming is a collective journey, and we knew that true change would only come through shared knowledge and cooperation. Over time, this community approach has brought encouraging results. Today, more than 300 farmers are associated with us and are actively moving toward natural farming methods. Their participation stands as a testament to the growing awareness and trust in sustainable agriculture.
Together, we are working to create a model village—rooted in tradition, guided by nature, and committed to a healthier future for all.
"At Jaivik Gram, we are committed to sustainability in food processing. For example, we process Arhar dal using traditional stone grinders, ensuring that the natural texture, aroma, and authentic taste remain preserved, just as in the traditional method."In addition, we strongly believe that consumers have the right to chemical-free and unadulterated food. That is why we have introduced the concept of fresh food, ensuring there is no need for preservatives. This way, the nutritional value remains intact while delivering safe, wholesome, and authentic products."Â
